Market Item Problems 3 Years, 1 Month ago
So, I heard from Tony about a problem with the market.

I) The Object's Cycle

Seems that there are amount x of stock for one object.
When that object gets sold out, it will be restocked after being used.
This brings us a problem: when you for example buy all the stock of item x, it won't appear in the market before it gets used.

This can be "exploited" by people who have a lot of money, or just will.
They can for example stock up the skill reducing objects to never lose their skills (* coming back to this later, in section II).
Also, I haven't seen a ticket to help somebody in a fight for a long long time. While an anonymous person has many.

Now onto the possible solutions:
1) Raise up the stock (NOT recommendable, as the same problems might repeat, just with bigger risks)
2) Put a time limit for ALL objects. This will put the objects back into their original cycle.
3) I really don't know how the market works, but if it's this way... Why not make objects stock randomly each day, no matter how many there were out?

------

II) Skill Reducing Objects (SRO).

Of course, as I'm posting about this, I suppose that there are no limits on them.
So basically, I'm more worried than in absolute desperation.
It came to Tony's and my mind that what if someone (again, with money, who knows) decided to stock up with all the possible SROs. When s/he has bout 10 of each, that person decides to go wild.
S/he uses them on his/her rivals.

I couldn't possibly come and claim such a horrendous thing without actual proof, so here it goes (and sorry for the little guinea pig, but I also want some advantage to perhaps win you in our fight):
2008-12-15 Somebody used against me a terrifying object: Free drink at Jil Tetit + Tusea bar
2008-12-15 Somebody used against me a terrifying object: Free drink at Nec Doiso bar

What if I would've bought one or two more? That would be the small effect, but quadrupled.
I know the effect is small, bout -1%, but in all skill, repeatedly.
Also take in count how SLOW stronger skills go up. This will be really tough if you happen to have a lot of them

To take it to the extreme, what if someone else would team up with me, and we both bought 10 of those and use it on the same person? Nuh uh.
Don't think there's more reasons why to change it, cause it can be disastrous.

Now to the solutions:
1) Make it possible for only ONE SRO be used against the same person per WEEK.
2) Make it impossible for people to team on one person with SROs. Only one usage per PERSON per WEEK.
3) Remove the SROs completely (I'm strongly against this option, but had to put it jic).
4) To repel further abuse and sabotage, let one person have only ONE type, and ONLY one SRO.

----

That's it.
Now bout what my opinions are.
For case I, I'd prefer option #3 with a twist. Give us encumbrance (I know, popomundo, but we can tweak the name). This wouldn't be just to copy Popmundo, but cause we NEED something to stop people from hoarding items.
Something like 5 items/person would do just fine.

For case II, I'd prefer a combination of #1,2 and 4.

Anyway, the decision is Bep's, but I hope I was convincing enough for him to change at least something
Enjoy your SROs and objects

Well of course I happen to agree completely with Niki, I found the selling bug when I was trying to prevent other people to buy Earth Reducing Objects, ERO happened to be sold more rarely.

I found full confirmation on this when I saw people with a HUGE load of Helping Tickets, which explained why no more tickets are being sold for a while.

In my opinion, time limit for object is a must, or people will exploit this (I also did by discovering it) glitch.

About the SRO instead, some skill really take ages to improve, some less than 1% a day. Destroying people hard work can be awful for them (especially for new learned skills) so I really insist we need to limit the number of that objects in use...use one of Niki's suggestions maybe.

I strongly support this option:

3) Remove the SROs completely

Or, maybe change the usage of the object, making it useful only in fight and lowering the skills of the opposite hero only for that fight

I like taised's suggestion: 5)Temporarily lowering skills for only one fight

That is the option I would support.

I don't understand what that would help tho.
Cause a small, non-permanent skill loss won't help anything at all, specially in fights

sure it helps: the % at which you know a skill influence your power in fights. Lowering all the skill in the main element of the opponent will lower both his main skills than the generic skill power.

I think that losing forever some % of the skills you know is a too bad thing to be done, in my hopinion it should be removed.
