Team Administration 1 Year, 5 Months ago
I'd like to have an option to appoint another team member as Administrator, similar to the option to appoint a team member as Teacher.

Currently the only way to transfer this role is for the current administrator to 'step outside': leave the team and get invited back in by the new administrator. What's more, when doing this, automatically the oldest hero becomes the new administrator. If you want a particular member as admin, all the older heroes need to 'step outside'.

The need arose when I went on summer holidays for a long period and did not want to leave the team unattended. All members would develop fat bellies from endless team dinners and they would miss all the fun from participating in (and losing) quests.

Hope you can do this, before next summer, Taised.

I heartily agree with this idea (and it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm also part of the affected team ).

But seriously, it would be much more flexible, if there was an option to make someone the administrator.

Indeed I have to admit that I live on a small coral atoll, where there is always the sun and with the sand on my feet.

(at least I'd like to )

P.S. If you haven't understand it, that means that I did the function. Even if it is not summer. And even if it wasn't so easy as you could think due to the quick response.

Thanks, Taised.

I'm unwilling to try this feature out now, after the trouble it took our team to figure out how to transfer administration the old way. Did you test it? If I hover the cursor over the new links, all red crosses in the Admin column display the same URL in the status bar: "view/93/108/#". Does the server know which cross I clicked? Compare to the red crosses in the Teacher column: "view/93/108?teamid=99&heroid=694&maketeacher=1". I would have expected something similar in the Admin column, like "&makeadmin=1" or so.

Anyway, if it works, great, thanks again.

Ah, why didn't I check the source before I wrote the above. It's right there: onclick="changeAdminConfirm(169, 99)" which triggers a confirmation script. Right!

Just one correction: The confirmation question contains the sentence "Doing so you won't have no more control on the team. ". That's a double negative. I suggest to change it to:

"Doing so you no longer will have control over the team. "

(or, getting rid of all negatives: "Doing so you will lose control over the team. " ).

Do you really think that I release a feature without testing it?

The url is just a small part of what can be sent to a web page.

I have corrected the sentence
