Sgrunt, every hero goes towards the teacher's orientation: in your case the orientation it's very close to zero, so you shouldn't expect big changes. There's no limitation about neutrals.

I can't agree, if this is the choice, and I suggest to review the engine.
In fact a neutral balance between evil and good for a hero should be difficult to achieve (and of course very difficult for a team) and heroes with a neutral orientation should be awarded.
